Building of a cloud chamber and visualisation of cosmic rays
printLocation:e-House, Nova Gorica House of Experiments, Bevkov trg
Time: 17.00 - 20.00
Researchers from the School of Science of the University of Nova Gorica will show you how works one of the simplest cosmic ray detectors, the so-called cloud chamber. Cloud chamber is a device containing air or gas supersaturated with water vapor, used to detect charged particles, X-rays, and gamma rays by the condensation trails which they produce.
The event will take place in the e-Hiša (e-House), Nova Gorica House of Experiments, which operates as part of the Nova Gorica Youth Centre. It offers workshops in the form of interactive experiments aiming to raise the eagerness and wish of the children, youth and adults to know more and to develop one's critical thinking skills.
