Open day of the research laboratories and centres of the University of Nova Gorica at the University Centre in Ajdovščina
printLocation: University of Nova Gorica, University Centre in Ajdovščina; Vipavska street 11
Time: 13:00 - 16:00
In the Laboratory of Quantum Optics you will be able to see the CITIUS light source offering an insight into the properties of materials at atomic level in real time. It is one of the most powerful light sources in Europe, generating extremely short (femtosecond - 0.000000000000001 sec) laser pulses in wavelength ranges from visible light to X ray light.
In the Laboratory of Organic Matter Physics you will learn how organic electronics is made from plastics, while in the Materials Research Laboratory you will learn how we can observe atoms by using an extremely powerful electronic microscope. In the Centre for Atmospheric Research you will learn how the lidar used for remote sensing of air pollutants works.
